CineSport launches
Gregg Winik, CineSport founder, left the NBA in 2006 to start Winik Media. His first offering comes today with the launch of CineSport.com
CineSport is a online video sports news and highlights show for the web. The service is using brightcove for its video player and promises exclusive video highlights of NBA, NHL, NASCAR.
Watching a clip that highlights last weeks U.S. Open shows photos with a voiceover recapping the event but lacks actual video of the U.S. Open while in play. Apparently this is how CineSport will work around the video rights of leagues they don’t have agreements such as NFL and Major League Baseball.
CineSport gives an option for site owners to “syndicate” or put CineSport on your site. However, unlike popular video sharing services that freely give you the embed code you need to ask for permission via email.
