Are you doing RSS well? Most are not
As we all fight to stay on top of the latest and greatest web technology. I wonder all time if I’m doing it right or just pushing it out the door to say “I’ve done it.” For example this study shows top news sites that have RSS feeds are not doing it well. The study concludes a user is better off using Google news then subscribing to a RSS feed. One RSS feed that drives me crazy is the U-T’s sports feed. Everyday I get hundreds of useless stories on everything they publish in sports. All I want is Chargers related stories. Another annoying thing they publish around midnight but the actually story is not posted until 2-4 in the morning. So I get sent to a 404 page until the actual story hist the servers.
So it has me thinking… feeds we have on Chargers.com are we doing them right? Looks like I need to do a bit more research and find out how my users use these feeds.
